Yep....No one should be late for anything this time of the year....

But, wasn't The Sunshine State getting out of this IDIOTIC back and forth with the clocks twice a year ???

I thought we eliminated the practice. or at least getting out of this.

It needs approval by congress, and they have not done anything with it yet.

Your title is still wrong because we're not going into Daylight Savings Time on November 4th, we're going back to good old-fashioned Eastern Standard Time. So even if Florida had the unilateral power to end DST (which as Boxus has already informed you, it doesn't), the clocks still would be changing next week regardless in order to go back to EST.

Florida getting on permanent DST is a ridiculous idea. I ain't about to be 2 hours behind my family for no reason for half the year. Eff that noise!

I think everyone needs light at 6pm but not everyone needs it at 6am. I read that FL was thinking about staying on DST year round too and I would LOVE that. Hate it being dark so early.

Why were so many people ignorant to the fact that the time change is still happening? I had tons of people telling me we didn't have to turn back the clocks.

Yes, now we are off DST and back on EST.

Because it was on the news that FL was going to stay on DST year round starting this year. Unfortunately, televised sporting events would be at conflict with the time difference with the west coast. At least that's one of the reasons I heard that was in the way of year round DST.

No, it was in the media that the Florida Senate passed a bill to make DST permanent. That doesn't make it so.

Evidently, not many people understand how bills become laws.

Maybe we should bring back Schoolhouse Rock?

yeah I mean how crazy would it be? Jags Falcons in Jax, starts at noon..game in Atlanta, starts @ 1PM.

Or Monday night football in Miami/Tampa/Jax starts when? 7:20PM? or 9:20PM?
