Hi guys,

I’m going to be in Miami for a day, and I figured this would be a good place to get some suggestions on where to go. My morning is booked up but I’ll have mid day and the afternoon free, then I’ll have to leave. I like architecture so seeing some cool buildings and stuff would be awesome. I really like Art Deco, I think I’d definitely like to see the Breakwater hotel, but you guys might have some other Art Deco ideas. I also like noir and neo-noir stuff, doubt I’ll be able to see anything in that aspect. Synthwave and Vaporwave are cool, Miami is pretty big for that right? Not sure where I’d go for that since it’s kinda a musical genre, but I like the aesethic of it. I also really like Urban Planning and infrastructure and transit, not sure where I could see some stuff like that though.

I don’t really wanna do any tourist attractions, kinda just wanna wander down see streets and see some cool buildings. I like dense streets and neighborhoods, and kinda wanna see the urban part of Miami. Maybe I’ll see the downtown part? If you guys know any cool streets to walk down that show Miami outside of the typical stuff, let me know. Also, do you guys know any good places to eat in the city? Looking for something casual and off the beaten path, don’t really care right now what kind of food it is. I don’t live that far from Miami, just don’t get to go down there very often.

Thanks

I just got back from a trip there and enjoyed walking along Calle Ocho in Little Havana.

Anything cool in Brickell and Miami Beach? Good areas to walk around? Wynwood walls looks interesting but I don’t think I’m into that kind of art thanks. Never had oxtail before, do they have lots of other options?

If you are here for the day only, go to Miami Beach.

Pick one location and go, traffic is bad, last thing you want to do is waste time going place to place, given you have such limited time. Since you want to see the Breakwater, you will be in MB anyway, so might as well hang around.

I’m considering taking the Brightline down. I’ll be in downtown in the morning so Is there anything cool to see or do there? Any cool streets with really tall buildings and stuff? I think there’s public transit from the brightline station to where I’m going, but how would I get to Miami Beach from downtown and back again? I would like to avoid rideshare services but will use them if I have to. Anything cool in Miami Beach that I’d be interested in?

Thanks

If you don’t have much experience with food, they have roast chicken that’s good. In Miami Beach... Lincoln Road and Ocean Drive.

Did you know that Miami has the third most skyscrapers of any city in the U.S., behind only NY & Chicago?

i know what you are talking about. A tropical setting of Akira, Miami Nights 1984, Retro wave, Neon lights. It’s going to be kind of hard to reach certain destinations by foot though, even public transport.

A sunset view from the parking of Mattheson Park looking towards Downtown while listening to dreamy Synthwave is going to blow your brains out! I emphasize sunset as it is the time when buildings cast a red/ purple shade and the neon lights activate in the skyline and horizon. Add that to the tropical almost nostalgic setting in the foreground and you’ll get you nice meal of Miami.

Everything you are looking for is in that experience. Try not to go on a rainy day though.

Walking downtown will be didsapointing, but if you must, there are parts of downtown (by the international mall and the Macys) that still retain that Miami Vice vibe.

Ill remember of other spots during the day.
