Frank and balanced article concerning Miami’s past, changing economy and demographics, and challenges ahead. Pretty interesting reading:

"The fact of the matter is that the ocean is rising. That's undeniable, that's a done deal. And, the process is surprisingly fast paced:"

These people just babber this crap...because someone else said so....
..and not a one of them ever check the tide gauges...of course not....it's all click bait

Sea level rise is less than 1 inch a decade......~9 inches a century...and has not changed one bit in over 100 years
...global warming has been going on for over 70 years....has not changed sea level rise in Florida one bit...no effect at all

You need to read beyond the title and first sentence and check out the entire article....rising sea level is briefly mentioned and not the major focus.

give me a break....it's the very first thing they "mention"......and then repeat that clap trap again 3 quarters of the way down..that's where the quote came from

"The fact of the matter is that the ocean is rising. That's undeniable, that's a done deal. And, the process is surprisingly fast paced: the anticipations of things that were supposed to happen in 2050 are now expected to become reality by 2025."

If you get beyond that and read the article in its entirety it’s a fairly frank and realistic discussion on a number of topics —at least it was to me, anyways.

I only skimmed through the article, because of time constraints and I don't really need some self-important, self-promoting author to tell me what I already know, as does any other person with a modicum of common sense and some experience.

I agree that the title of the article is faddish click-bait.

My impression has been that potential sea-level rise is one among many risks that need to be hedged, but no reason to become hysterical about it - downright hysterical - like many people have.

The author, it appears, does evenly focus on other opportunities and risks facing Miami in the past, now, and going forward, and the book itself is aptly titled, so congratulations!

Fault the journalist and the publishers for the off-putting title to the article, idiots.

Yawn...another hype story about sea level. All the stuff added just to make it look like an article that is not about sea level.

As for everything else, boring, nothing that anyone did not know already, this guy is merely repeating things.
