In June and July 2019, I was charged 67.88 for two UFC events ordered from home and not the list price of $59.95, which I had been charged previously. Also, the price on my ESPN+ subscription recently increased to $5.65 from $4.99. Anyone know the source of this apparent excise tax?

Yes, I called them and got the run-around at first. The second time I called they told me there is a "state streaming tax." If that is true, that is one lofty 13.23% tax. What a blatant money grab.

It's not a "state streaming tax," it's a Communications Services Tax, and it includes cable & satellite tv, video and music streaming, telephone (including VoiP), and mobile communications. The state tax rate is 7.44% and then the individual municipalities add their own on top of that. In the City of Miami for example, it's an additional 5.72%.
