I think it largely just depends. . .

If you're in Miami after a cold front comes through, it's gonna be too cool to swim and bask in the warm sun. If you're there and a cold front hasn't recently moved through, then sure, you prob could swim and enjoy the beach..... mostly depends on cold fronts, which in December happen.

Yes, I am cold today! I would not want to be swimming right now.

At least we admit we get a few cold days here and dress accordingly...I remember my days in SoCal where they have many more cooler/colder days than us (let alone a much colder ocean) yet I used to chuckle looking at those who still swore every day was a beach day there, defiantly wearing shorts, flip flops, and a down vest while freezing their balls off but never admitting it...probably the same ones who wore a ski cap on warm summer days...lol

Perhaps, but the tourists sure do. Have you been to South Beach in December?

I was in the ocean both days this past weekend. The ocean is not that cold yet.
