Publix is going back to a semi-normal schedule beginning tomorrow (Saturday). They will be open from 7AM-9PM and the pharmacy returns to its normal hours. As the title of the thread states, Publix is also eliminating the previously reserved hour of 7AM-8AM on Tuesdays & Wednesdays for seniors and first responders. More info in the link below.

They should EXPAND Their Inventory before anything else, The so called Prime Florida Grocers, and where Shopping is EXPENSIVE are falling way behind their SELF - Assumed Top Notch Crown.

Apparently the West Kendalites missed the new Hrs, went by the Pubix @ The Hammocks at 6:50 AM and there was NO line outside.

Good chance to go in, but I did not have the AMEX Gold Card with me.

What specifically are you looking for in Publix that you can't find?

I buy certain flours and pastas, household items, and lately even water through Amazon, Target, Walmart, Fresh Market (chicken and beef delivered same day) and specialists like directly from flour mills.

At Publix, I mainly buy fresh items like (almond) milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits & vegetables, but also some dry bulky items like whole grain rice.

I find Publix competitively priced on a few items, but, yes, expensive on most others. However, it is conveniently located and that alone has value.

In my area, I don't see local competition that's worth the inconvenience of store-hopping, even before the pandemic.

Anyway, I just came from Publix. Certainly much less crowded and stressful, perhaps attributable to the restoration of 7AM opening time, no lines, and I found everything on my list.

All the best!

We're not big meat eaters, but I haven't had a problem at my Publix, even Tyson frozen meats/chicken.

I can't find Lysol anywhere, not even online. I did see a substitute on Walmart, but I wasn't fast enough and it sold out in a matter of minutes.

I find all fruits and vegetables that I want at Publix, including "weird" stuff like fennel, radicchio, endives, escarole, turnips, beets all on a regular basis, even dandelion weed occasionally, all both full of pesticide and organic, not to mention several kinds of tubers typical of the Caribbean and South America.

I did see one person complain that there aren't like two dozen varieties of oranges and apples, only a half dozen or so.

Well, we have a 2.5 mile radious with Bj's. Festival, (Formerly Presidente) Super Walfart. The Spanish Winn Dixie. 3 Publixes. Target. Sedanos and ALDI.

So we can definetely keep tabs on all, but 90% of our grocery budget is ALDI, and a tad here and there with the others and their weekly specials we get by perfectly.

Retired with lots of time in our hands and limited Income we do really well. But I wouldn't move from home if it wasnt close by, and really it all is. If you have to drive 10 mls to save under a dollar is a waste. And not our ball game.

Stay Well.

7 am is too early for a grocery to open and 9 pm too late to be open. 9 am to 7 pm is better.
