What a shame that this was approved. A massively popular sandbar is getting whacked to get sand to Bal Harbour beach? Is the sand all over the bottom of the ocean not adequate for some reason? Between the reefs is nothing but miles and miles of sand.

I knew the Army Corps of Engineers was involved before I even read the article.

That is the most idiotic, utilitarian organization there is. They have no approach to anything other than a strict utilitarian sense. Example, the wall around Brickell they proposed, lol.

They've already made their mark on the Mississippi River delta.

And they with the Southern District Water Management people have made tons of mistakes in Lake Okeechobee to this day for the last 30+ or even more yrs
