The public school system has some of the country's best schools, but unfortunately some of the worst. For example, DASH is ranked the #1 public magnet school in the U.S. Coral Reef HS, Miami Palmetto HS, MAST and New School of the Arts are all top ranked as well according to U.S. News.

Another good thing about the schools here, is the private schools. Miami has a wide variety of really good, prestigious private schools. Some are okay, but there are a lot of really good ones. Off the top of my head. Belen Jesuit, Miami Country Day School, Ransom Everglades, Our Lady of Lourdes, Gulliver Preparatory, Carrollton School, and Samuel Scheck Hillel Day School.
