Certainly it's much better to be safe than sorry but the way these people were thrown out on the street homeless without compensation is unacceptable. https://miami.cbslocal.com/2021/07/09/evacuated-residents-crestview-towers-north-miami-beach/

That's cruel.


Notice how the article doesn't name the bureaucrat or elected official who made the decision. It just says "City Manager" without naming him. It might be referring to the unnamed person, or it could just be referring to the department. There is rarely any accountability in a bureaucracy.

You'll be seeing more of this sadly, especially with all the corruption in Miami Dade with real-estate/half assed inspections. It's really unfortunate but that's what happens when the city inspectors turn a blind eye and again, lots of corruption.
