Hi all,

I previously posted about my upcoming move and searching for a 3 bedroom rental under $3,500. After reading you guys' advice and doing research, I have made some adjustments as my budget will not get me in the areas I want.

So now.. I am considering a 2 bedroom apartment to get most of what I desire, which is:

Commute to University of Miami Hospital of less than 25 minutes
Good for young families (I have a young baby)
Safe place - will need to walk my dog early in the morning as well as on the evenings
Park nearby would be a huge plus
Near the beach

Budget - less than 3,800.

I will have to find a place to live via virtual tours and google maps as my situation will not allow me to visit before hand.

I have researched the following areas:

Miami Shores - but there does not seem to be anything in my budget range except for Adela at Mimo Bay and it seems like they have nothing available
Edgewater - I am not too familiar with the area, but would this fit my needs?
Brickell - from what I remember back when I lived in Aventura years ago, Brickell was a cool area but not sure if it fits what I am looking for

Any other suggestions? Do you think condos would be better than apartments? Any specific buildings I should look into?

Have you considered Coral Gables? It checks all the boxes except for being close to the beach. Many of the buildings are within your budget and very family oriented.

Key Biscayne would be perfect if you could find something in that budget.

With a baby? That's a no for me

You didn't mention which Univ of Miami Campus..Downtown/By the courthouse or by the college in South Gables?

If its the latter, this is a great option for you for a 3 bedroom under your budget: https://www.propertypanorama.com/ins.../mia/A11142898

There are over 300 rentals in your criteria (2 bedrooms or larger, pet friendly, unfurnished, in Miami-Dade county). The key is the 25 minute commute. That means a few miles away at the most. Aventura would be a solid hour each way and the most miserable drive of your life (I did it for years).

Brickell would be great because you get tons of amenities and an actual 'life' after work. Some of the new fancy buildings even have kid play areas & day cares!

Confirm which location you're working at and then reply back to us.

*Note for moderators* I'm not advertising that listing above as my own, it is not my listing and is merely for info purposes for the OP to view photos.

Ha!

That living room chair was bought from The Forge liquidation sale.

I know because one of my besties designed the chair.

Give Key Biscayne a long hard look to see if you get lucky and find something. It fits exactly what you are looking for.

I wasn't lucky to find anything there and it got really close to when I had to move. Ended up renting an apartment in Edgewater.

That's probably best, easy commute to work. Keep life simple

Enjoy!
