I was wondering, if I am vacationing around Miami, Florida and I happen to be in Hialeah, Florida, can I get by with using Google Translate? I do have Autism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger’s Syndrome) and my disability does render me incapable of learning Spanish or another language. I heard that 95% of the population speaks Spanish at home, but I am unsure if many people that live there are multilingual in English.

I did my scuba pool session out in Hialeah. Instructor spoke perfect English. He's Cuban. Also my friend's wife buys flowers for her decorating business out there and she doesn't speak Spanish. Hasn't been a problem.

I lived in Hialeah for 10 years, It's the absolute worst area near Miami if you can't speak spanish. Really.

Why would someone on vacation want to go to Hialeah is my question. Just stay near the beach.

It could be one of personal finance, though perhaps there are other places in the Greater Miami area that caters more to English speakers.

you should be OK....but be prepared to have to repeat yourself a couple of times when giving an order to a wait person as if you are speaking to a young child.
