I am from Miami born and raised, and Hispanic. I only speak Spanish to my mother and aunts, other than that I speak English all day everyday. Frankly, I don't see how it's becoming the primary language. On that note, I would also like to point out how i believe that it is vital that they eliminate things that enable immigrants that come to this country, to not learn English. Being HISPANIC, even I believe we should stop classes for kids that only speak Spanish to learn English (which they have here in dade) because I have seen the kids come out of the class not speaking a scrap of english. I embrace being Hispanic and knowing both languages, BUT in the school I attended the whole school speaks English. Sadly, these kids are teased and remain ignorant because they don't provide them with the power of speaking enlgish aswell.

That was also the first Cuban restaurant I visited too. I haven't gone there in ages, I don't know if they are still open. My Cuban stepfather used to take us there often. Pretty nice place. They had several pictures of famous people who had been in the restaurant as customers on the wall.

I agree completely. Those classes in Spanish are hurting the students. The main thing those kids should be learning is English, forget the Algebra, science and all that stuff, you need English to get a decent job. I know New York had those Spanish classes too back in the 90's, I don't know now.

well I thank fox news for informing me that I must move . I don't get it. wait I do get it!!!

what do you call a person who speaks three languages? tri lingual, correct? (I'm tri-lingual so I should know).

what do you call a person who speaks two languages? bi-lingual, n'est pas?

what do you call a person who can only speak one language and then only do so poorly? american!

lighten up folks, many of us are not going anywhere. we'll be right here and so will our flag.

I'm proud to be an american and I'm happy to be able to communicate with other americans who might have only come over in the last few decades and are beginning their american journey as all other immigrants did, slowly, in their language. I feel it's my civic duty to help them as best I can.

I only read something on fauxnews when I need a good laugh. Maybe Geraldo and Bill OReilly can be dispatched to Miami to investigate the apparant disappearance of 1950 from Miami.
