Drove around the other day...very nice maintained neighborhoods, overall seems nice. Anyone know anything else about this area ?

This area is more or less an OK area, not exceptionally wonderful, but not terrible either. It is basically the easternmost part of Cutler Ridge. I don't know much about LBTB specifically, other than what happened to it in 1992 (from NOAA). I can only assume the homes are better built now.

Be warned that some days the smell from the nearby mountain of trash (Mt. Trashmore) can be overwhelming. If you like to take walks outside or keep your windows open then this is not hte place for you. Expect about 1 out of 10 days to be bad. Maybe 1 out of 2 in the Winter.

I was south of Kendall during Andrew as well. Country Walk was the community that got destroyed...they were all wood frame homes. Wood frame homes should NOT be allowed in South Florida...period.

ANYWHERE where a strong hurricane is a good possibility -- see Galveston for an example.

That sounds like the one and it doesn't need to be closer. The stench can carry for miles when the wind is right.

You can smell "mount trashmore" for up to 4 miles depending on the wind, especially in the winter when the air falls.
