I think burglar bars became a Hispanic thing because they like to paint them bright, flowery colors. Obviously Hispanics are comfortable with them on their houses, otherwise they would have removed them. What started as a safety measure by whites before they moved out became an iconic trademark of most of Miami's neighborhoods.

There's hardly any people in any of the pics. A person here or there ya, but a bunch? I also thought that what makes Florida so errie looking. Away from the beaches, it looks like ghost towns (even the good nabes)! Now compare that to areas in Harlem, there's people EVERYWHERE! Alot scarier than some old beat up looking houses. To me, those areas look like actual ghost towns. Hows it dangerous when nobody is on the street to bother you?

lol that is many in floridas inner city ghettos, they all out at night, go to the smaller towns like pahoke or belle glade, and tons of people outside in the day,

Person A: White male electrician making $45,000/year leaves House A in good condition

Person B: Minority male electrician making $45,000/year moves into House A and the condition deteriorates, as well as surrounding area. (minority male took white male's job and moved into his house)

Minorities of all colors moved in and filled the employment positions that whites abandoned. They also moved into the white people's former neighborhoods, one house at a time. Everything is the same except for the condition of the homes. Now they are in worse condition.
This has got to be the dumbest thing I have read on here. Did it ever occur to you when the minority moved in the house was older?
Also, I can take you to plenty of white folk's homes that are pretty run down.

The concept of "minority" as it is used in most of this country isn't all that relevant in South Florida in the first place. Most of the "Hispanics" in Miami-Dade and Broward counties are white and live in middle-income, well-kept neighborhoods.

The "black and Hispanic" grouping (which I really never heard until I moved to NYC, and it is still foreign to my ears) has almost no relevance in South Florida and, for all practical purposes, only exists in the minds of people who accept the divisive concept of "majority" (Anglo-Americans which, ironically, do not even comprise a majority of this country's population) versus "minority."

Note: I note your sarcasm but just wanted to get my comment into this discussion as well

we don't have anything that even remotely approaches a ghetto here but there's no convincing the timid and fearful posters here about that. some posters here consider miami gardens a ghetto.
