I heard an interesting comment once visiting Northern California. The Manson Nixon line; meaning that the North (North of SF that is) was full of hippies and South was much more conservative (obviously before my time, but an interesting social commentary back in the day).

I have been racking my brain trying to come up with one for Broward Dade (Lauderdale/Miami) and the whole Latin thing verses the rest of America.

Kind of like the 48th parallel in Korea.

Ideas, anyone?

LOL... are you asking about the Mason-Dixon line and if that concept applies to Florida? If I had to draw such a line, it surely wouldn't separate Miami-Dade and Broward. Even most of Palm Beach County is "South Florida." Once Jupiter starts fading into Martin County, you start to enter a much more Southern-feeling place.

Who would be the Icons present day representing such cultural differences in both areas.

This is not to be confused with the Mason Dixon line, Mod Deleted

Ideas, anyone?

Yes I know the answer.

For the Broward Dade (Lauderdale/Miami) and the whole Latin thing I would say the rapper "Pitbull" represents that area well. Cuban born rapper who has a heavy influence over the hip hop heavy culture and the lifestyle in those areas. You know the usual, Crime, drugs, violence, expensive cars, partying, strippers, money, bad attitude, Im better then you attitude.

For the rest of America and its attitude I would say Al Bundy represents that. Draw your own conclusion on that one.

Call it "The Bundy-Pitbull Line"

I like it, I like it, but I was thinking of two more prolific/notorious archtypes who rhyme with Nixon/Manson. I guess the "on/on" thing.

A Latin political figurehead in Miami from the past and a well known actual Floridian character from somewhere North = actual historical icon not TV show.

Who was that mayor that shot himself inside the Miami Herald building?
