This Miami Arena mess has been all kinds of screwed up. Now they insist of jackhammering at 7am on a Saturday. I happen to live next door along with about 1500 other people in my building. Anyone know if this violates a law? Or should I just punch the guy in the face?

send a complaint to city hall. See if you can get others in your building to do the same or maybe sign a petition or something.

Ya i sent one- so did many many others. Didnt do anything because in the law it says they can "work outside permitted hours with permission." So basically the city screws up yet again.

Yes, I'm very familiar with that sound!! However, I live on the other side of downtown, Mary Brickell Village area, so I don't hear those early morning jackhammers so much these days. Seems there are LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of luxury highrise condo buildings that appear to be mostly EMPTY these days!

I don't know how it was done, but the people in my area did manage to get construction to NOT START until 8:00 each a.m. They were at one point starting at 7:00, and bringing in the big, loud construction equipment in around 6:30 a.m. SOMEONE managed to get a stop put to that.
