Great opportunities for fun, adventure, exoticism, and international experiences...all emmeshed in a tangle of backwater, banana republic, hilarious escapades. Man, I could tell ya tales...

Maddening but cool. Check us out.

Miami is what everyone here has said, because it is a place that "is what it is", and that is something different for each individual. Basically, you won't know if you love it or hate it until you're there, but you'll likely end up feeling one way or the other about it.

I am in your demographic and grew up in Miami. It was great growing up, in high school, etc. I moved back home after college for a few years and did have some fun during my single mid-twenties as a girl. I purposely did not date for a time until I met my current beau, because he was an anomaly among single men in Miami. I honestly can't imagine being a young, single woman looking for a serious dating experience in Miami, it must be incredibly frustrating. All you have to do is look at the many comments on this forum from the guys about Miami women to see what I mean. However, once I figured out what I really wanted in life, I left Miami because I could not afford to have the quality of life there that I wanted. Plus, I just wanted new and different experiences.

However, it is a good place to figure out what you want in life if you are kind of at that questioning stage. There is plenty of party to go around if you've got the money, or the willingness to flirt with guys who do! I've known plenty of people in their mid- to late-twenties who moved to Miami, lived the party lifestyle for a few years and left as soon as the novelty of the bling wore off. Then again, I have dear friends who have lived there their entire lives and will never leave.

Yeah, that's kind of my worry. I have been out of the questioning phase for the past two years now. I used to go to Miami for NYE celebrations and party hard. Now, though, I am looking for more substance in my relationships. It's not like I wanna wear sweat pants and eat chips at home with a guy, but I am also past that "let's just party for the heck of it" phase. It gets monotonous after a while. Had some pretty fun memories, though

I definitely recommend Miami over Nome, Alaska.

But seriously, not every guy in Miami is a barfly, bling-covered party boy, or douchebag. The issue is how to meet people, the same as anywhere else. I recommend against clubs if you're interested in a serious relationship.

Hi,

My name is Andrea, I am a former UM student and need to rent my 1/1 apartment located at Brickell Roads. I just got married last august and moved to South America. A friend who was currently renting it is graduating from a UM grad program and moving. Available June 1.

There are three other UM Grad Med students in the building. I own this apartment; it is a new small cozy building in a great location. Isn't fancy, elegant or big. It is close to Publix, Walgreens, 95 and in walking distance from Miami Metro-Rail and Metro. All neighbors are young professional. In Brickell you would find many large buildings with great luxury amenities but half empty. Due to the economy many buildings are closing their pools and lowering their maintenance schedules so be aware of Monthly SALES around because large buildings are full of foreclosures and you dont want that.

You will have your (1) private Parking Space inside and there is free parking around the building for visitors, beside the visitor parking spaces that can be use by resident vehicles. I just change the floors, so it hardwood floors. I also remodeled the bedroom and built a Walk-in Closet last November. The kitchen is brand new and with granite countertop. The building has a small Gym and a nice view to Brickell skyline. This apt is located in the 4th Floor. (4 floor building)

I am asking $950 a month (Internet, water and alarm included). Pets Ok and the building is right in front of a park.

The building only has 34 units and mainly owners so that keeps the place alive, clean and safe.

Let me know if you want to see pictures. Is a 5 minute drive to campus I used to commute everyday and is the best area of MIAMI. Let me know if you need a place to live.

Sweety you don't need to learn Spanish.

this is AMERICA, english is the official language.

Nothing states that Spanish should be learned by American Citizens.

You'll have no problems living in miami, just relocate by Brickell or Miami Beach .

It seems that everyone on this forum complains about it. Is it such a bad place to live? Or is it actually a nice place if you are single and laid-back?
Thanks!
PS I don't speak Spanish, but I can learn languages pretty fast.
Where are you from?

Dragas

If you are from London, Miami will be a paradise for you.
Not only that, it will be dirty cheap.
Don't worry about Spanish, some parts of the city are like "Torremolinos" or "Majorca", but everybody speaks English.
Of course, you'll need a car.
You'll find people there from every country, but out of Miami is just like living in Yorkshire.

refer to the above post "Miami is an HIV epicenter" lol. Search the stats on STD's and Sex Crimes for this city. Youre better off elsewhere. Fun yes- but the clinic isnt fun either. Anyways check out the sex offender map and see if youre still into Miami.
