Anyone out there know the names of any bars and/or lounges that were in old Miami hotels from the 1930s, '40s and '50s? Preferably from properties that were demolished or remodeled/renamed, and thus aren't around anymore (i.e., NOT The Delano, The Fountainbleau, etcetera)? THANKS!

Search MiMo Architecture, South Beach Art Deco, or the Upper East Side.

Default Thanks, Kevin -- Still looking

Thanks, Kevin --

I've looked through several books, including Miami Memories: A Mid-Century Journey (vintage postcards), MiMo by Eric Nash & Randall Robinson, Too Much Is Never Enough by Morris Lapidus and The Making of Miami Beach (published by the Bass Museum) -- but unfortunately none of them have many images and/or info on old hotel lounges, bars, restaurants...

Anyone else out there have any ideas?

This movie "A Hole in the Head" with Frank Sinatra as a hotel owner in Miami Beach in the late 50's. It has a lot of scenery, the hotels, restaurants and etc. You can watch it on Hulu for free.
