I know a Home depot was planned to go up where KMart use to be, but the locals were not very happy about that and they stopped.

But does anyone know what they're making now? It looks like so sort of park.

I do not remember a movie theater in westchester center. There was Kmart, a furniture store, a Lilas restaurant and Jackson's/Byrons. At one time there was a grocery with Kmart as well as the classic Publix which was uglified on the outside in the 80's and seems to have been demolished or remodeled. A coin laundry was also in that center. As far as I know financial problems have stalled the home depot plans. Last I looked it was just a fenced off wasteland.

As I remember,...the movie theater used to be accross the street where a Ross is located nowdays.
That's where I saw the very first 'Star Wars" movie when it came out.

Yes that was on the Lionel Play World side. The west side was Zayre and Winn-Dixie but the only side with a "mall" was the southeast side of coral way and 87'th.

The only stores left standing there are a Walgreen's and TJ Maxx. Publix was demolished and is being rebuilt and the old KMart end is for a Home Depot.
