Wow this is shocking. I live in Doral and it's nothing more than traffic and a ton of South American immigrants. I don't get what would make this such a great city.

That style of writing is the result of being run ragged by Doral living.

Average income is high and the schools are decent. But yes, this doesn't tell the whole story.

  • Enviable salaries?? Where?? I worked in Doral as a Reservations Agent for a very famous hotel company. My salary was $9.25 per hour with .25 increase after training. Is this an enviable salary?

Default This post made me almost fall out of my chair laughing

I moved from California to Florida for a job in January. I actually considered living in Doral, since that is where my job is located. After reviewing the schools, I realized that I could not possibly live there.

I usually squeeze in AN errand on my lunch break since everything in this sprawling city is far. I have been stuck on traffic on 41st driving to the bank (that was almost a 2 hour lunch break).

It looks like a great place to open a business, which is why my boss chose the location. But 'liveability wise' there are many other cities that should be on the list, Doral not being one of them.

Hey look! Another Doral Hater!
As a resident of Doral, I'd have to say that Doral isn't a "city". As Reagan High School graduate, I'd have to say that our high school is pretty decent with the AICE program that they have. Also, traffic in the interior of residential areas is low enough for you to not deal with idiot drivers.

Oh yeah! Dorals! We used to buy 'em two packs for a dollar when we were too cash poor to to smoke our regular brands (which cost ONE dollar). Oh those were good days ...

Well, I certainly didn't mean to spew any hate in my OPINION of Doral. I certainly don't hate it, but chose not to live there based on what I think is a 'liveable' city for me. The fact is that I was unimpressed with the schools which was a big deciding factor for me as far as 'liveability'. I am not impressed with 'programs' and test scores alone. There are many deciding factors that I take into account when deciding whether or not a school is A+. I like to not have to drive everywhere, so Doral was not for me, but it may be 'the bomb' for someone else. Like I said, GREAT place to open a business, not my cup of tea as far as 'liveability'. It always boggles my mind when I see people getting touchy on CD about other people's opinions on 'their cities'.
