Actually, before we bought our PBC house, we rented in Bay Harbor- used to visit the restaurants in Sunny Isles/Bal Harbour (Great selection- Wolfie's, Ragazzis in Surfside, Caribbean, Argentinian, Cuban, German cuisine) If you can financially handle it, it is a nice condo/highrise area.

I agree with Sunny Helena , yes Sunny Isles is very nice , safe , beautiful condos going up everywhere , nice ocean views , close to Aventura , Golden Beach , Hollywood , Ft.Lauderdale .. good restaurants .

Many people from the Northeast , NYC , NJ , Rhode island , Connecticut and wealthy South Americans .... much nicer than living in the City Of Miami and most parts of Dade .

advice that's the real deal! good reliable post (I like to acknowledge when someone actually tells the truth about an area that I know something about) Gone are the days of the Newport Beach/Holiday Inn, but it's still nice there.

A cool thing about it is that it's walkable! If you want that vibe, it's nice! I used to work up there...Just drove through the other day - very bustling! And of course the beach is RIGHT THERE!

I have lived in SIB for the past two years, its a nice place as others have mentioned. but living on A1A can be a real pain. Another annoying fact of life is that it takes like 25 mins just to get to I-95. 163rd, Miami Gardens Drive, Ives Dairy are all clogged.

Other than some restaurants and a Publix's that sucks there really isnt that much else in SIB, so you end up driving over to Aventura for everything. For rentals, there really aren't many apartment communities left, everything has gone Condo.

I'd look on craigslist and try and find a private condo for rent. But be prepared to plop down some $$ for a nice place.

I'm just wondering, how old is the majority of the population in Sunny Isles Beach?

this is just a guess, but I'd say the median age is high 40's

Go south a bit on Collins to Surfside and the median age is 75
