I'm sorry but you are wrong in this respect. National firms with offices in Miami just raised their salaries to $145,000 to start and while is not as high as NYC it is a very competitive salary nationally. Salaries in other size firms widely vary - it all depends on experience, how well you did in school, what type of work they do and your book of business.

I hate Miami. I've lived here for 8 years because I married a Cuban-American. It's miserable here if you don't speak spanish (I don't), and well....in general the people here are incrediably rude. I'm moving to North Carolina next week to get back to America....nice people here I come. I miss the nice people.

There are always long lines in banks, grocery stores, parking lots, and government offices
Crime is a problem
Jobs pay does not reflect Miami's cost of living
Too many people living here
Too many people from too many different places each one of them, pulls his own way.
Everyone is from somewhere else
No one says greets you anymore, not even in church
Rude drivers

Oh my goodness....we have one mind! The long lines and about a million too many people KILL me. Oh and my favorite is the 5 cars in every driveway. Grass? what's that. Latin American's hate grass for some reason and concrete everything. There are no lawns here. Hope you like concrete.

Yeah...the only downside to getting that salary is giving your life away to the firm , but I was also glad to see salaries in Miami were competitive. In Orlando, for example, firms are like $30,000 behind and the cost of living is not much higher, IMHO.

That is not a Latin American thing ... it is a Cuban thing .... for some reason Cubans especially the ones who have arrived in the last ten - 15 years or so pave over the front yards .... looks like crap , but again it is a Cuban thing .. drive thru Hialeah , Carol City , Westchester or Little Havana and you will see it is a Cuban custom !!!

I do not know any Colombians , Venezuelans , Brazilians , Argentines or Mexicans or Chileans that pave over their front yards !!!

One of the engineers in our Ft.Lauderdale office is a Cuban - American guy who fled Dade and he keeps me up to speed on some of their customs ..... San Lazaro statues , tacky sweet fifteens parties ( quinces ) , burglar bars and of course paved over drive ways !!
