Where can I find the nearest 'Fritanga Monimbo', because that sounds like it'd be right up my alley?
Its in Kendall around 117th and Sunset, I can't remember which side of the road it's on though, but very good cheap food.

Not too far from where I live then. I will have to pay them a visit.

I heard there is a Havana Harry's possibly going into the old Tony Romas on Kendall Drive, so it does happen at that to good Cuban places close by ya.

Some good vegan/vegeterian place is Beehive on 40th street and 57 ave.

I'm not too crazy about la Fritanga, they are at the BJ's shopping center. The food is very affordable though.

I'm like the only resident in Miami who doesn't like Cuban food so I really don't have any recommendations

Anyone has any suggestions for Salvadorian food?

For Cuban food:

Ayestaran Restaurant
706 SW 27th Ave
Miami, FL 33135-3015

For Cuban sandwiches

Sarussi Cafeteria
6797 SW 8th St
Miami, FL 33144-4701
264-5464‎

For Cuban Burguers (fritas) and good, authentic ambiance at a very low price.
El Rey de las Fritas
In Calle 8, around 15-20 ave.

For Spanish food:

Casa Juancho
2436 SW 8th St
Miami, FL 33135-3016

A place to avoid:

Delicias de España
Somewhere along Bird Roa
Weird and wild Spanish tapas

OK I was up all night trying to come up with these.

Las Culebrinas - there's about 4 of them now with one on Flagler, the other the Grove and another somewhere along Bird Road.

Havana Harry's and Habana Vieja on Coral Way/Coral Gables.

Except for Casa Juancho, erase those that Leovigildio mentioned. Dumps.

Also, forget eating at Casa Panza in Little Havana. There was a change in ownership and the food is terrible now.

That's close to where I live...thanks for the suggestion!

I really like Cuban food, but no restaurant I've been to cooks it as well as the MIL.

Never tried Salvadorian food....what's it like?

La Carreta is decent...I've been to that one + one by Dolphin Mall. I was also curious to know of any "mom and pop" type Cuban restaurants that are good too.
