Today I had another long time friend tell me he is moving. Destination- central Georgia. Since the real estate bubble hit Florida in 2003 I have had 9 friends move to other states. None have returned and all have prospered. Is this a trend that continues or have the gullible been lured to Florida to replace those leaving? The economic situation in Florida has been worsening, so has anyone else been thinking of moving or know someone else who has?

Thought about it and left. Now we wonder why we waited so long. I look forward to visiting, but right now - its not a place for us to live and as Tall Rick put it - prosper.

Funny, Arizona was a migratory state who's population exploded like Florida's, only people aren't leaving in droves...

You're crazy, I think I would kill somebody to be able to live in Brickell.

Brickell is fine if you work downtown, make a lot of money and don't mind living in a lousy place. Do not have to kill anyone to live there, there is plenty of space available, just open your wallet really wide....

That's downright scary, and eerily believable!

Tallrick, were trying to get back to NC. I'm a FL native who lived in NC for a bit. FL has changed too much for me. And some of my family members are also trying to leave - again - many of which are FL natives. A lot of good, moral, hard-working Americans seem to be leaving many parts of FL.

I would also consider N GA and Greenville SC. Like both of those areas a lot too.

I have lived in my neighborhood for a few years, and we have a lot of neighbors. We are in a huge subdivision. I've seen the people in here from from NY/NJ or Latin America and then foreclose over and over again. They came trying to flip their house and the market took a crapper, so they vanished. I've seen a couple houses that has turned over a couple times and sometimes even 3 times already. We are the veterans on the block and we've been here for 3 years.

Don't worry Trusses. I'm finding that Orlando grows on you.

I really have to disagree with you here, Brickell is a nice part of Miami, close to South Beach and close to places people can work in Brickell and downtown Miami. I don't see anything wrong with Brickell for a couple or single person without children.
