I'm sure you are right about not judging an entire city by some negetive posters on here. I've never seen this site before and haven't even checked out the Chicago page yet. I'm sure there's some posts on there that are weird or horendous to other cities on there, as well.
I had just never seen all this before.
You've been very nice and non-judgemental in replying to my posts. Thank you.

Please ignore any and all grammatical errors, puncuationor spelling errors from me. After a 70MPH car accident in which we flipped 4 times in 2008, most of my 4.0 past in such things has gone out the window unfortunately. (Pun fully intended It sucks. I've got some slight brain trauma and some memory troubles, as well. I can say for certain that seatbelts save lives! Cheesey as that old slogan may sound, it's true for me. Take good care, Loggerhead Shrike. Maimi.

The boards can be fun reading. Some of the points of views are hilarious (or diconcerting). I have checked out other city forums out of curiosity and its is all the same there. The negative posters, the overly positive ones etc...I have learned not take them too seriously, but they can be informative. Glad you wore your seat belt, can't imagine going through what you did, and Miami does have some pretty drivers so I always wear them!

I hate to bring up an old thread like this one, but I found this comment to be interesting.

I have heard many people say that if we were in Germany, France, etc, we would be expected to speak the local language, so Miami residents should be forced to speak English.

But, while there are some things I'd like to copy off of Germany & France, I do not necessarily think language policy is one of those things.

Forcing someone in Miami to speak one language, as opposed to the 3 official ones that are here, is something that so many other countries do already. It does not make them any better places to live. Do people really believe that forcing us to speak English in public will make Miami a better place to live? Why should we copy language policy from other countries?
