Heh. Thanks. But everyone was doing it. Everytime Navarro would rant you would see a ton of cars going around blasting 2 Live Crew. The funniest thing was most of the cars we saw were like ours which was a Camaro full of long haired rocker types. I guess we had nothing better to do but felt like we were taking some kind of stand against censorship.

Thanks to this thread I put on some 2 Live Crew last night. Felt kind of funny to be pushing 40 and driving to Target with Dick Almighty blasting in the car.

It was fun to fight the power at the time for a cause that in a Constitutional sense was just sooo right. As I said, I knew Luther Campbell and he was no one I would typically go to bat for so it was kinda weird in a way. But it was a matter of freedom of speech and he was quite the ironic character to represent such a noble cause as free speech and he actually did a great job with Banned.

I remember Flamingo Joe was selling anti-Navarro T shirts in his music shop. That dude was too cool for FLA and eventually went back to the islands.

I think Luke was kinda perplexed to find out how many white friends he didn't know he had from that controversy!

Ya know that whole episode needs to be filed under the perpetual Miami slogan - "never boring!"
