Well from what I have heard NYC has some of the toughest DMVs because the less cars on the street the better for the city. They want you to choose public transportation first. The tolls are crazy high and gas stations in Manhattan are scarce, this is why I was told it is tougher to get a license in NYC. Miami is definitely up there when it comes to bad drivers.

I don't think Miami drivers for the most part lack driving skills. They just have a blatant disregard for signals, rules, etc. What is needed is greater enforcement of the rules and higher fines.

Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. The skill set is there- much like the other rules, they are largely ignored for selfish, self-serving reasons - because the dirver and passengers are more important than everyone else on the road - didnt you know?

So true, but why do people have a blatant disregard? Is it because the lack of a police presence? Or just a lack of respect for others, what I mean is if you had respect for other drivers you would use your turn signals, follow the rules of driving.

Its all about the lack of respect for others and self-importance combined. Anybody who has spent any time in Miami knows how superficial the people are. Its "hey, look at me". The problem is that if you are normal and want to drive by the rules, you can't because you'll get run over. You have to break the rules to survive driving in Miami. You have to fight fire with fire.

You left out my favorite Miami Driver trick.

If the line of cars turning left onto any expressway is too long, it is not necessary to wait at the end of the line for your turn to make the left. Simply drive alongside the left turn lane, put your left turn signal on, and block traffic until someone, realizing that you are "just a little bit special," lets you butt the line.

Drivers are just as bad in Broward - like Miramar. These island people drive cars like boats. Nobody STOPS at a stop sign, and i guess they don't have turn signals on boats - since they rarely use them. Hialeah - let's no go there now or ever.

A few weeks ago in December, we were driving north on the Turnpike, 10pm, just north of Coral Reef Drive going between 70 and 80 in a pack of cars. When five or so rice rockets raced to pull up in the center of the pack of cars. One of the bike guys in the front of the bikes decided he was going to do bike tricks while we were all are going 70+ mph closer to 80 probably. He popped the bike up on one wheel, then he decided to stand up on the seat while the bike was still on one wheel only, he then continued to do some other tricks. All I could think was one wrong move and this guy and his buddies behind him on the other bikes are dead, because there are cars all around them.
