My wife and I are vacationing in Miami next week and we're both seafood lovers. Any good suggestions on Seafood restaurants surrounding Miami area?

Here are some of my favorites:

Azuls on Brickell Key at the Mandarin Hotel is probably the best meal I have had in Miami. The service is perfect the setting is pretty and the food is beautiful to look at as well as delicious. Not cheap. Azul Restaurant for Fine Dining in Miami Florida

Oceanaire a chain, but the service and food is always good, not cheap. Located at Merry Brickell Village The Oceanaire Seafood Room - Welcome! Sometimes you need a reservation, sometimes you don't.

A romantic setting, the drive to the restaurant is beautiful, not so expensive meal, Red Fish Grill in Matheson Hammock RED FISH GRILL

Captains Tavern, for that old Florida feel and good prices located near Dadeland Mall. Captains Tavern Seafood Market and Restaurant You will need a reservation for the weekends.

For Stone Crabs the famous Joes on Miami Beach not too expensiive Joe's Stone Crab

A small but good Peruvian place in the Gables called Francescos :-: Francesco Restaurant :-: Food from Italy and Peru,Florida, Usa You need a reservation as the place is tiny.

The last is not totally a seafood restaurant but they do have seafood on their menu. Ortanique in Coral Gables Cindy Hutson Cuisine (http://www.cindyhutsoncuisine.com/dsp_miami_dinner.cfm - broken link)

red fish grill is very nice and the location is PRICELESS. Make sure to ask to be seated outside and make sure to check the sunset time and ask to be seated 1/2 hour before sunset.

Joes stone crab is a MUST....but forget about getting in for dinner...they are packed and the only way you will get in is by handing the Maître d' a 20 dollar bill.....that was a few years ago and it worked. LUNCH for Joe's is what I would recommend...no wait. MAKE SURE TO LEAVE ROOM for their key lime pie....voted the BEST in South Florida.

I like Captains Tavern as well.

A newcomer that has had fantastic ratings for it's seafood is Area 31 located in the Epic hotel, right on Biscayne Blvd. A little snipit

" The restaurant takes its name and many of its products from Fishing Area 31, a United Nations-sanctioned, ecologically sustainable swath of the Western Central Atlantic Ocean. Chef John Critchley takes daily catches such as Spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper, corvina, and wahoo and sizzles them over a wood grill, with pristinely pure results." http://www.area31restaurant.com/

enjoy !
