Clearing up stereotypes - does South Beach have a seriously downturned 'off-season' and well-defined 'tourist-season'?

I'm sure it's busier with more tourists in peak months...but I'd think that no matter what time of year, you'd still have most of those parking spaces filled and people in the restaurants....or no?

Well, I know my hotel prices double starting in late Dec through around late May...................

I would say that during the boom era and good economy, there was no down season. Miami Beach is really a world class destination, not just a winter escape for US snowbirds. On top of that, there are year round attractions, events, parties...so I would say no, no down season. Now, there are more deals out there in say August because a lack of events, but the prices won't be all that different from a slow week in October or March.

I knew people in the hotel industry and yes there is a high and low season. High Season in December - May typically.

There's a high season, but I think you get a pretty good influx of people year round.

When I used to work at the Biltmore back in the 90s, there was a high and low season, now I think the lines are blurred...or purposely altered LOL by the hotels and Chamber of Commerce...but overall, you will still have plenty of tourists year round because summer here is winter in South America...
