Miami Hispanic population is on the decline (Kendall, Sweetwater: middle-class, living)

As of 2010, Greeks, Poles, Macedonians, Lebanese, Israelis, Slavs, Southern Europeans, and North Africans , are labeled as white in this country.

Not only the English/ Scottish have the right to call themselves white.

American blacks can be called Anglos because they are of the same culture as "White Anglos" - English-speaking Americans. They even have the same last names, Jackson, Brown, White, Evans whatever. Just like Hispanics includes blacks from Spanish-speaking countries, Celia Cruz (RIP) and half the players in MLB.

If those people mentioned above are Anglos, AA are Superanglos. At least AA have been here during centuries and most of them have Wasp or Indian blood. My gosh, how could a Greek, Israeli or North African be an Anglo? Flabbergasting.

And legally, all Hispanics are white to. Even if they are not. Sammy Sosa is a white man if you go by the Census. A Aztec descended Mexican is White according to birth certificates. So official statistics are meaningless when it comes to race in a real setting. And nearly everytime someone is referred to as White in Miami, it means a WASP-White American...Ive never heard a Black person referred to as Anglo, or a Arab looking person referred to as Anglo...In the first case a black person is called Black. In the latter, it is Muslim or Arab.

As far as Hispanics go, if they look white [and I dont mean they're birth certificate being check-marked White], they are often seen as such at first glance. Most hispanics in Miami are mixed race and dont look white, so White people in general, hispanic or not, are assumed to be a WASP at first glance.

You obviosly don't know what you are talking about.

A WASP is a White Anglo Saxon Protestant, and only a fraction of those called Anglos are WASP. WASPS are from British, German and Scandinavian stock.

A Polish mixed with a Bulgarian, with some Irish in it is not a WASP, Irish are not WASP. WASP are as scarce as Leprechaums in big American cities.

Most Hispanics in Miami are white, that's why Miami stands apart.

Cubans in Miami, at least when I was there decades ago, called "Americans" only to Germanic looking Americans. For them, it was difficult to tell Jews, Italian, Irish, etc, from Cubans or Latins.

Most South Americans in Miami, at least back then, were second generation Italians, Spanish, German, Jews, you name it. That's why in Miami, Latins are in control.

But white hispanic (mostly South American and Cuban) population is not that visible as before. Nicaraguans and other people of Amerindian Mongoloid descent are becoming more dominant.
