Hey guys I've been going to school in NYC for about 2 years now and to be honest I need a change of scenery. I work in the fashion industry and it seems to be as if NYC LA and MIA are the top 3 for that right now. I've lived in NY obviously, and visited both LA and Miami several times, but can't seem to get my mind around the 2 cities.

Fill me in on the +'s and -'s etc

I gotta go with LA myself, I'm a strong advocate of Miami, any city you choose will be hard to make it, although both would be possible, you'll get the most opportunities in LA.

LA would be better for you in terms of the fashion industry. Have you thought about going abroad? London, Paris, Tokyo are other hot spots as well.

I am from NYC as well. What about it are you tired of and what do you hope to gain by moving to another city? I ask because maybe this will help us answer you a bit better. But just on the case of your work in the fashion industry, LA would be a better look for you. On the flip side of it, Miami is virgin territory. If you are on your A game you could come out here and dominate.

Miamis fashion industry is pretty young still, but it has grown the last few years a lot actually. Miami does have some designers here, not as many as the other two cities have. This month I believe is fashion week here in Miami. If you are looking for a place to learn/intern maybe at, LA and NYC will have a larger selection of possible places to that at.

You're best off staying in NYC.

fashion week was in March 18 - 21, just after NYC's fashion week. As for the designers here your right, there are some up and comers. I am doing a shoot for one soon, very talented woman. As I say with most things, Miami is full and I mean FULL of potential.

Ditto. There is no "fashion industry" in MIA or LAX. Robyn

Miami for beach, warm ocean, sexier people, and never ending party. IOW, permanent beach vacation.

LA for everything else.
