Any comments on how good/bad it is. Very few reviews, most not favorable. Mom wanted to hit them and before we go would like to know how it is. The one in Pompano, the Isle is nice - how does this compare? Mostly interested in slots.

THANKS!

Haven't been to Calder, but was at Magic City by the airport (Flager Dog Track) and it was pathetic.

Gulf Stream is right up the road from Calder and I was there as well. The complex is really beautiful. Brand new with shops, restaurants, the track (obviously! ) and the casino. The upstairs of the casino is nicely done. Under water motif. Giant aquarium by the bar area. Downstairs is boring. No theme, just machines in a room. Both parts of the casino are very small.

One thing FL doesn't know how to do is casinos. Small, pathetic little places for the most part. If you want to fart around a little bit, it's not bad, but they're not what I consider 'real' casinos.

You could go to the Seminole Hardrock in Hollywood. You'll get more of a real casino feel there. Much bigger and they have some table games, should you want to mix the action up

Thanks, I appreciate the reply and info.

I've been to Gulf Stream and the one up off Sample, but the Isle so far is the nicest IMHO.

I guess the lack of response tells me how it probably is at Calder, may check it out before heading up to the Isle

Magic City Casino has the best Customer Service! The other ones may have "pretty themes", but I like to go places that I am treated well. Magic City Casino is always my FAVORITE!!!!

Really? I thought everyone in Magic City was pretty rude/didn't care.

I didn't get up to Isle, but will next time.

I looked up Calder's casino pics and it doesn't look too bad. Like I said though, no casino down here really screams 'casino' to me. Granted most are only racinos, but still, Empire City up in NY at Yonkers Raceway is really nice and it's only a racino.

Hopefully the state passes better casino laws and we can finally get some real casinos down here. Las Vegas Sands was exploring the area and is in buddy buddy with a lawmaker here and is lobbying to get casinos approved.

Thought I'd give a quick review...

We went to check out Calder, figured we'd walk in, take a look-see around and head up to the Isle. The Isle didn't happen. Played for over an hour on one machine with $5.00. Then we saw, when you get the players card, they'll give you $20 of credits to play with. One machine I used $10 of that really quick, the other $10 went in to another machine and I played over an hour on that, and put an extra dollar at the end in. All totaled, I lost a whopping $6.00.

My Mom lost some, my DH went home with a little more than $100 more than when he came.

Was there late morning, not many cars in the lot, not a big place, but easy to find machines. Nice and clean, no problems finding it, people seemed to be friendly. They have self-serve soda machines for patrons which was nice.

Not as nice or big as the Isle, but closer and would definitely go back. Also, since DH and Mom are over 55, when you sign up for their players card, they get $10 each month in credits to play with. I fortunately/unfortunately do not qualify yet

We'll go back.

Love that! Delaware has soda fountains as well and I like being able to just get up and get a drink of soda or water without having to wait or flag down a cocktail waitress.

Thanks for the review, I'll have to check it out some time
