Wow, thanks for that link...I'd never heard of ice balls before.

I wish I could afford to move "up north." I have friends with a place right on Lake Huron (Harrisville, on the road that leads to the camp ground) and the lake is amazing in winter with all the fantastic ice formations. I could live there year around, if there was work.

Those are cool. The ones she took a photo of are a bit bigger than I have seen myself, but they do happen if the conditions are right; you just have to keep walking the shore, and enjoying our outdoors in order to see them.
