We are planning to retire in the UP maybe around marquette. But I got to thinking, are there any beaches or something that resembles a beach close by. If not, please suggest a place where there are great water views (Lake Superior)? and/or a beach. It really doesn't matter to me where as long as the summers are not hot like Florida (where we will be moving from)UGH!!! and plenty of cold and snow.

Anyplace along the Superior shore line would be spectacular. Not sure if there are "beaches" on that side of the penninsula? Water tends to stay sort of cold.

Don't think you will need to worry too much about being hot in the summer. If it does overheat in the months of July and August, the months of September through May will make up for any heat you may experience.

We have plenty of beach here in Marquette. The city is built on the shore of Lake Superior, almost anywhere you go in the city, you can see the Lake.
