Apparently it's going to be stronger than the storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald, at least in terms of low pressure measurement.

Maybe in low pressure. But from what I was reading about the wind speed, nothing out of the ordinary for around here. Just a couple months ago we had winds over several days reported over 70 mph. And earlier this year I was in Petoskey and the wind was so strong it was hard to walk against it. And a time last winter the gusts were so strong I literally had to hang onto the car while pumping gas to avoid getting knocked over.

That's what I'm hoping for. Wind has to change direction though before it does much for us. Right now blowing out of the Southeast the waves are staying small, but they are supposed to build to between 12-15 feet for tomorrow. If the wind swings in from the Southwest it should be decent tomorrow.

Wind gusts here are supposed to be 50 today, 55 tonight, and 60 tomorrow. Sustained winds today into tomorrow is supposed to be between 25 and 30 MPH

Default Powerful cyclone to hit Michigan today

For all of you who live in Michigan my thoughts and prayers are with you during this freaky weather pattern. I hope you don't experience structural damage to your property or injury to yourselves.

Take cover, it might not be as bad as predicted and you might be able to have some fun watching the storm like I do. I love storms.

Good Luck

Its headed your way ! We have had gusts over 60 locally, I have some trees down , my grill went sailing onto the rocks below , tarps on wood pile are history.....exciting stuff , and its not over yet.
The good thing strongest winds are from the SE , Superior does not look so bad right now ( surf is blowing off shore). Barometer is at 28.64 and falling, not good. Light rain and 62.

Nice here. Temps in the 60's, light rain. We did have the tornado warning sirens go off earlier, but nothing major. the winds are only about 10mph...so far.
