I left MI, but was smart enough to go somewhere that it rains more than 6 inches a year. You do use water from Michigan when you buy a bottle of water. So I guess we're even with Texas. I am referring to people that move to the desert then plant fescue grass and have to water it all the time.
I actually live in MI, but have a home in NV also because that is where my husband could find decent work when it all dried up here. We were not given a choice as to whether we wanted a wet or dry climate, unfortunately. I like NV a lot for the weather but there are other reasons why it probably wouldn't work for us forever. You have to do what you have to do and it is not the best situation. I do not like being separated from my spouse or my kids. Not sure what the future will hold, but our families are here in MI, so it will likely be where we retire. I do not care for the winters in MI, but family wins out over that too!

Where ever in this beautiful country I end up, I hope that my mind remains open as to the fact that all of America has natural beauty in one form or another and that I am glad to be a citizen.

I found MI ranked 9th in a wikipedia listing from a noaa site, but using, they say, uncertain methods of computation. That "uncertain" method shows Virginia as having more coastline than Michigan. A look at a map will show how utterly silly that is.
