Got to just love the law abiding DEER hunters, or should we just call them what they really seem to be.
The rules say no baiting in the Lower, can't do a thing to the party store owners and gas station owners for legally selling the carrots, sugar beets and corn.
It all is not going to the UPPER. On the way into the Tree Farm yesterday here in the lower there was a trail of carrots and sugar beets that fell out of the truck which was taking them back near a deer blind not to far from our bee hives.
You say well maybe their not hunting yet. Still the law says no feeding for viewing in the lower either.
Many a hunter is legal in every way thru all the hunting seasons. Seems Michigans Firearm deer season brings out the slobs in droves. Tresspassing abounds, shooting after legal hours is a daily thing, spot lighting after hours happens nightly.

And I have to say what a fine job the sherrif department and the DNR has done in this area to make sure we continue to have the same problem each year.
I loved the sherrif officer in his brown uniform who was nearly crying when asked to go into the woods and remove a tresspasser and in fact refused to do his job.

It's amazing how the bottom feeders ruin it all for the good and responsible hunters everywhere! The baiters fall into the same category, for me, as the road patrolers who hunt in packs of trucks parked on the roads while waiting for the army of footsoldiers to drive the deer from the woodlots and out on to the road. I always wonder who gets the bullet riddled venison!

I have the solution. Wherever you see a pile of carrots, place a pile of donuts.

So if I throw our halloween jack o lanterns into the woods for the deer to eat, I can be ticketed?

Is this just for deer, or can we be cited for our bird feeders and squirrel feeder? Or if our kids put out something for the bunnies to they can watch them eat?

You could but, you won't.

The ban was unnecessary.

The DNR will look into complaints on state land but, that is about all.(at least in my area)

Do you have a link to the law that makes selling corn, beets or, carrots a crime???

In Wyandotte, at least, there are a limit to the number of feeders you can have because a real serious bird lover had over fifty on one property. They also have a prohibition on feeding seagulls and pigeons but I don't know how strict or if it's limited to the park.
