VANDERBILT, MI -- For those of you who like pulling slots in the Gaylord area, there's a jackpot tonight.
Bay Mills Casino and Resort has opened a new casino in Vanderbilt, right off of I-75 at exit 290.
The casino opened today at noon, and has 38 slot machines.
The tribe says they've had a vested interest in Otsego County, and feel the timing is right.
This casino could also be the beginning of a larger development.
"As long as everything continues on as the way we believe it's going to continue on, then the long-term plan in we would look to further develop this property that to meet the needs of the community and the people as a whole," said Allyn Cameron, of Bay Mills Casino.
The casino is open to people 21 years old and up, and does not serve alcohol.
Cameron says the new casino and development will bring several jobs to the area.

I'm sorry but I lol'd when I saw the picture of it.

It also says the tribe had a vested interest in Otsego county...what, they found out some people there had a few dollars left in their bank account?

It would be nice if they could've built a casino in Gaylord and made it like a big Bavarian ski lodge complete with hotel, restaurants, and theater. Build it back in the woods just outside of town. Hell build it near the golf course and make it a nice resort then Gaylord would actually be worthwhile.
