Hello all! I am very excited to move to West Michigan! We have to be up in the area by march or april. I have narrowed down (after all my research and reading from the posts... ) a swath of area From West Olive to South haven area extending inland to Fennville... We have a teenage son who needs a good high school and we hope to find a home with 3-7 acres or so. I am a yoga instuctor I will have to seach for a place to open a small studio and I am not accustom to travel in the snow. When we drove up there for christmas it was beautiful and I saw how well the roads are kept clean of snow for the most part. I am leaning twords south of holland about 15 min drive or so.. How is Holland for economy and jobs.. is it reasonalble to think living out in the country a bit and driving in is doable? What are your favorite areas in this location? Is it a realativly safe area? Thought Grand haven, but it is a little too north for my fiance as he will be having to drive to chicago intermittenly... I would love any and all thoughts! We do love the snowy winters and all that goes with it, skiing, snowmobile..etc.. and the beach idea for the few weeks of summer. Any wonderful beach areas that are less touristy but beautiful? Not that I mind toursits.. just curious.. We have been in the relo process for a bit now.. had to leave pensacola fl...now in Alabama.. and up and onward to your great state of Mich... Thanks!
