What is Spanish immersion?
Spanish immersion is a unique educational option that teaches native English-speaking children all of their academic subjects in Spanish and prepares students to live and work in our global economy.

Spanish is a “gateway” language that will train the brain and make language acquisition easier to learn. Immersion students begin learning language when they are a lot younger in small classes with personal attention by teachers who are native-speakers. They acquire their second language in much the same way toddlers learn their first or native language. Students spend almost all day immersed in the Spanish language learning science, math, social studies, language arts and bible studies.

By teaching curriculum in the second language, and starting when children are best able to acquire another language, these children are able to attain true bilingual proficiency in both languages.

Not only do students participating in Spanish immersion improve their Spanish proficiency, they also improve their knowledge of the English language and enhance academic test scores. They are even able to learn third and fourth languages with an ease that can’t be attained if they begin language learning past puberty.

Most graduates of immersion programs in the U.S. become Americans who are linguistically and culturally aware with an inherent understanding of the world beyond their own communities. These same graduates become adults with expanded career opportunities in a diverse world market.
