That's good. Better to understand than to assume.

Some people have such thin skin today it is almost funny.
Sort of like getting rid of your car cause the tire went flat and went WOP WOP WOP till you could pull overto change/fix it.

Whoa,whoa people! Its just the name of a store....its not meant to be racist or insulting. Its overly PC people who insist on putting this kind of spin on everything today. Geez! I am sure there are much more important issues you can involve yourself with instead of being hell bent on making someones business fail cause you dont like the name *shaking head,some people* I will make sure I stop in next time I go down to TC!

It's a racial slur, not just a "politically incorrect" term. Just like calling a Hispanic person a ____, or an Asian person a ___. It crosses the line.

And if the guy is Irish, and his wife or partner is Italian, and they have no problem with being called either, would that make everyone feel all better?
<rolls eyes>
Good grief. Instead of "a rose by any other name..." , now it's "let's get all bent out of shape because of what we perceive, and force others to our mindset!".
Seriously, though - an Irish deli? What - Oatmeal bagels? (I'm devoutly, proudly Irish, so sue me.)

I beg to differ. Its not directed at a person or group, but a business name. Get over it!

Offended? It is obviously someone who lives in the area & if they thought that was a good name for a new business, obviously they are stupid. Let's get with the program here Unless, they live in South Bend , IN and decided to open an Irish/Italian grocery store in Traverse City
