Just wanted to share my pics I took in Oscoda today. Sorry about the quality but they were taken with a camera phone. They are of Lake Huron, Lumberman's Monument, and Canoer's Monument.

WOW! What great pictures, and a beautiful day huh? I did not think I would be making it over that way this year, but I remembered we will be staying at Tawas Point campground for the July 4th weekend...so I will get my Au-Sable River area "fix" after all!

.

Yes it is perfect out! It was a little cloudy this morning but once the clouds broke I took off for a day of driving. On the way back I stopped to take some pics of some of the sites. Once I get a new digital camera, I will be taking more. But I won't get a new camera till I start working, so for now my BlackBerry is my camera!!

Once the sun starts to go down I am going to pack a cooler and go down to the docks and do some fishing... I forgot how much I loved this place! Being away for 5 1/2 years really really make you appreciate what this state has to offer!!

I love PURE MICHIGAN!!

That area is so amazing..something about that amazing river nestled in that fantastic pine forest. It reminds me a lot of Lake Superior...it cleanses the soul.

Very nice! That's one part of the state I haven't visited. We always seem to primarily vacation in the northwest LP. I'll have to visit there sometime.

The Oscoda/Tawas areas are very nice. You have the beaches of Lake Huron and you can drive about 4 miles or so and be out in the secluded areas and you have Van Etten Lake, Au Sable River, Foot Dam Pond, Cooke Dam Pond. The area is nice, quiet, and relaxing with lots of camping and water activities to do!
