As I sit here with both the windows open wide the scent of Russian Olive is wafing thru them.
First we get the lilacs for a couple of weeks then we get the Russian Olive. Once they are done we have to wait another year for such delightful smells to fill our scences with such a beautiful smell. Despite the 3800 sq ft of perennial flower beds we have.
The bees are so happy also. Have only seen them gang up on a couple of sorces of necter and pollen this year so far.
Yesterday afternoon walking the dogs early due to an approching storm the girls were out in force. With a 10 acre field containing thousands of the Russian Olive shrubs I was hard pressed to pass by one that didn't have a bunch of bees working the blooms.
