You probably came to the right place. Check out online venues. Maybe, the shy people are in their houses posting here on these forums. Craigslist also. I believe that they have a section for finding friends. Might seem a little bit odd, but it might work for you.

Do you have a dog? If so, is it at least reasonably friendly and not terribly intimidating? If it is, go for a walk around the block and leave the shyness at home. Dogs make great icebreakers. I have a chihuahua and am not usually a social person at all (I have lived in my place almost seven years and have never spoken to one person with whom I share an interior wall) and my neighbors don't seem to care for me, but if I take the dog out for a walk, oh boy, everyone wants to talk to me and pet the dog even though she growls at everyone.

A "group of shy people"? Now that's an oxymoron!

(No offense, I'm shy myself and have the same aversion to "outgoing people", but I kind of enjoy being alone most of the time actually. Most shy people I've met actually live quite interesting and active lives. They have just found activities and hobbies that don't necessarily involve being around others. Now, if you want to "overcome" your shyness, maybe take a Dale Carnegie Course?)

Check out meetup.com ... enter your location and tons of groups for people with all different interests, situations, etc. There may even be a support type group for people to overcome shyness. Good luck, but just curious...if you are shy, why would you want to be with lots of other shy people?

Shy people are creepy. Find other people to hang out with. Bowling alleys seem to be filled with people who are not shy.

(I am kidding for those who cannot discern sarcasm or levity in written posts).
