Can anyone tell me how long of a ride...and how the ride is driving from South haven to Leland ???

Hoping to drive it...all depends on how the ride is & how long it takes.

It depends if you go by highway (196 to 131) or if you take 31 the whole way.

It is a little over 4 hours if you go the fast way over Grand Rapids, taking 196 to 131 at 70 mph.

If you go on 31, it depends a lot on traffic and how often you stop, but it could be 6 to 7 hours.

I often drive between Muskegon and South Haven. It usually takes me about 80 minutes on 31. From Muskegon to Ludington is maybe another 80 minutes. I haven't driven north of Ludington recently, but I doubt it would take much more than 2 hours to get to Leland from Ludington. So I'd estimate you could make the trip in less than 5 hours via 31. The scenery is mostly forest. The traffic is usually not bad. It would be faster to take the highway through GR, though.

That is a LONG drive . . . I wouldn't attempt it if you only have a few days. The drive from South Haven to Muskegon along the lakeshore is really nice in and of itself.

Its faster in the winter than in the summer with the tourist traffic.
