Here is a cicada shell...he must have just hatched a few days ago. I have them on a few of my trees every year.

Nope. There are many summers where I don't see any, and my kids are always looking out for them.

I was just commenting the other day that the nice thing about the heat and humidity is that it seemed it was too hot for mosquitos, which was nice! (speaking of bugs).

No
The last two years there were hardly any. The year before there were a lot but not like this year. People were saying that they are dying out. Apparently not here. It is really something. They are everywhere in huge numbers it is really neat.

The Chicada picture sure is a pretty bug. Are they edible? I have not seen any nor heard any that I can think of. Not here anyway. there were lots in Illinois and Iowa last week.

We get Cicadas every year that sing in the trees in Southern Minnesota, although they are especially loud this year. Missouri gets them every year as well, except they are more numerious. There are different kinds of Cicadas.

Possibly. They found a wild mink recently. I did not know that there still were wild mink. If there is a big foot out there, he will probably hang out at our house. We have the High School Crew team around from time to time, and some of them would probably appeal to big foot as friends. They certainly sound like big foot most of the time.
