Thanks Lion! The listing is already on our short list. Thanks for thinking of us and sending it. We just want somewhere beautiful - is it beautiful around Manchester?? We also like to go on a "Sunday drive" and check out areas. Pack up the kids in the car - go for an hour or so drive - get an icecream, see the sights, walk around a small town - come home (we used to do this in the UK and Australia all the time). Is it that sort of area?

Much of Jackson County is swamp, so be mindful of the type of land you are looking at when finding a place. Also, with the old farm houses, you will run into foundation issues for not so well maintained -- inspections are worth getting!

Also keep in mind areas like Munith, Stockbridge, Leslie, and Dansville. All under a 1 hour commute, good farm country and in "more desirable" areas.

Dexter.

It is a great little town with lots of rural areas nearby where you can find a small farmhouse.

However you should be aware that most fruits and berries grow better on the west side of Michigan. I think the soil is better there.
