I Live in Swartz Creek, about 3 miles from Flint. But we are still our own city. I've lived here for 26 years and I am ready for new space. New sights. I would love that same feel small self sufficient town where everyone knows everyone else but within 10 or 15 miles of shopping malls, grocery stores, theaters, restaurants. I would love to be near a lake. I'm looking for apartments that accept large breed dogs. Ooooh and DOUBLE points if there is a public dog park! So tell me about any cities that might fit my parameters and what else might be nice of those particular cities.

OK, how far afield are you looking to live? Swartz Creek is so middle-of-nowhere...

The north side of Holland has several large apartment complexes, a dog park and is close to both Lake Michigan and Lake macatawa.

Swartz Creek is not middle of nowhere. We are about 3 miles west of Flint Township. We are a 5 minute drive from the mall and 10 minutes on the expressway to downtown Flint.I am near Linden, Fenton and Grand Blanc. I love being so close to so much, but I want different sites. I'm sick of looking at the same stuff. I'm will to go anywhere in Michigan as long as I am within 5 minutes 10 of a bigger city.

Sorry - threadjack:

I didn't know that you live in Corunna. One of my favorite places to go golfing was Corunna Hills, even though it was a bit of a drive from Flint.

Is it still around? My golfing days were in high school and college, mid-60s.
