Give it another couple weeks, this area explodes with color. Just starting now, but when it is in all it's Fall beauty, you will not believe how beautiful it is.

When we finally made it across the US we stayed in Newaygo in the State Forest on the high bank side of the Little Muskegon. It was all green when we arrived and by the time we left the cabin a month later the leaves were half gone. We got to watch the whole thing out the bank of windows overlooking the river....

I can't WAIT to see it all change. My whole pasture is surrounded by trees. My favorite thing is sitting in the pasture with the girls. I figure it will be an awesome sight over the next few weeks, colors flaming all around, frisky ponies frisking about.

Ah, to think, some people only vacation here. We LIVE here!

We were in MI this Summer (Aug). we had a blast ... wonderful rock hounding.
We had hope to come back for the fall burst of color, but older parents health kept us here.
We will be back next year...that's a promise...

Just as of today the colors are really changing in the tip of the mitt. At this rate, peak colors will be in the next week or so.

I was thinking about taking an Up North color tour on Oct 8-9. Do you think I'll be too late? Should I move it up a week?
