What a difference a year makes, huh? We are going to struggle to hit 50 degrees any time soon.

Just goes to show that these things are cyclical. We may not see another March like that in our lifetimes.
I hope and pray we don't see another March like last years in my lifetime. It was pure hell on our fruit crops.

We have a friend with a small apple orchard, and he didn't have anything last year either. I'm getting so very tired of this snow. I wish it would warm up enough to finally get rid of it, but what we had last spring was truly awful for the apples. Sixty degrees in March was way too high for this area.

HUGE ENORMOUS difference in temperatures this March compared to the extreme blowtorch of March 2012, eh? Temperatures in March 2012 in many areas of the Upper Midwest were 8-16F ABOVE average. March 2013 is running closer to average if not below average in some areas.

I expect a milder trend in temperatures after about a week and half from now. March will end with below average temperatures, but my early guess based on looking at the computer models is that April will have average to possibly above average temperatures.

I don't want anything to hurt the fruit crops, but I'll welcome an average to above average April. I haven't seen my jogging trail in two and a half months now. It's too long. I want to get back to my running again.

O you poor folks, dealing with a little weather are you? Well right now I am s of Gaylord in a cozy motel. I dread tomorrow, 3 feet at my house last night and today. Tomorrow more coming. 6 feet of snow depth in the woods, or more, i will snowshoe up my drive to het my tractor out ...The Marquette lake effect is doing its job quite well. We may break a record this winter. 20 foot stacks all around town, it's like driving through a tunnel everywhere you go !

Ya, I did notice that the snowdepth at the NWS Marquette site seems to be increasing to well over 40 inches and I last checked a few days ago. Definitely a complete reversal from last March. Look for a rather sloppy milder trend the first week of April, though.
